Globally, around 7,600 people die every day from a work-related disease or injury; a further 1 million people suffer a non-fatal illness or injury. It’s sobering that so many lives are blighted by largely preventable hazards at work – with many of these victims working in agriculture and industries producing food, goods and even services for consumption in countries like ours.
