OH response to an ageing workplace

Summary:

Government projections to 2050 envisage organisations employing increasing proportions and numbers of older people who will also be working ever later in life. This continues a trend in which people are living and working longer, and retiring from paid work later. While there are links between ageing and ill health and injuries (work-related and non-work-related), they are not straightforward and are sometimes surprising. Even so, the increasing numbers of older workers, particularly those aged from their mid-60s onwards, will present a major challenge for OH practitioners …
