In summary, in England:

  • From 30th November face coverings became compulsory (subject to exemptions) on public transport, in shops and some other settings (but not hospitality venues). From 10th December this was extended to many additional places such as cinemas, theatres and places of worship: Covid>Face coverings.
  • There are changes to self-isolation rules for fully vaccinated (and some other) contacts of Covid cases, including – from 14th December – daily lateral flow tests for 7 days: Covid>Self-isolation>Exceptions if contact is fully vaccinated, or under 18 etc.
  • From 30th November even fully vaccinated arrivals from non-red-list countries must take a PCR test before the end of Day 2 and self-isolate until they receive a negative result. From 7th November they also need a pre-departure test: Covid>International travel regulations.
  • From 15th December there are to be new requirements to prove vaccination or a negative test for entry into nightclubs and settings where large crowds gather (including some outdoor events).
