Although stress can be associated with common psychiatric disorders such as depression and anxiety, it can also be associated with other non-psychiatric triggers. These include 'chronic embitterment' experienced in response to a negative event within the workplace, said Tom Sensky, emeritus professor of psychological medicine at Imperial College.
