COVID-19 vaccinations will be mandatory for all care home workers in England, with the UK Government considering extending this principle to the healthcare sector. Its bold move is barely justified.
The UK Government says that anyone working in an adult care home in England will need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (unless medically exempt)1. It is considering extending this requirement to all health and social care settings, with mandatory influenza vaccination included1. The proposed amendment to the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 would require employers ‘to deploy only those workers who have received their COVID-19 vaccination’, presumably dismissing those who don’t comply…
