OH consultation times

The results of our August Tea-breaker poll

Summary:

We present the findings of an online Tea-breaker poll about targets and restrictions on OH consultation times. Respondents also gave their opinions on how to reduce the impact of inflexible scheduling on consultation outcomes.

Our August 2023 Tea-breaker poll asked occupational health (OH) professionals if they are under any restrictions, targets or key performance indicators (KPIs) regarding either the amount of time allocated to each OH consultation or the number of referrals they are required to complete each day. They were also asked what changes they would make to reduce the impact of inflexible scheduling and improve consultation outcomes.

Methods
The online survey was conducted between 2 August 2023 and 15 August 2023. The questionnaire link was included in The At Work Partnership’s monthly OH email newsletter and was posted on its social media…

Dr John Ballard is editor of Occupational Health [at Work] thanks all those OH professionals who took the time to complete the survey and express their views on this important topic
