OBITUARY: Prof Stephen Bevan
An inspirational thinker in employee wellbeing
Summary:
The At Work Partnership is sad to report the death in June of our friend Professor Stephen Bevan, after a long illness with oesophageal cancer. Stephen was most recently principal associate at the Institute for Employment Studies (IES) in Brighton and honorary professor at Lancaster University. Previously, he had been head of HR research development at IES, and former director of research at The Work Foundation. Despite his illness, Stephen continued to work part time and wrote a series of blogs as ambassador for the Working With Cancer social enterprise, which helps people manage, live with, and return to work with cancer. The blogs charted his return to work after treatment in 2019, to his terminal diagnosis and living (and working) through palliative care…
