Part 1 of our ninth survey of pay and benefits for OH nurses and OH doctors

Summary:

Alice Sinclair and John Ballard report the results of the ninth Occupational Health [at Work] pay and benefits survey. Part 1 focuses on headline financial rewards and pay satisfaction of OH professionals. The survey includes responses from employed as well as sole-practitioner OH nurses and doctors.

Occupational health (OH) professionals continue to be relatively well paid. In the survey period, employed OH nurses earned around 35% more than the median UK full-time employed earnings, and employed OH doctors earned roughly 3.5-times the national median. In general, sole practitioners earned even more. Around six in 10 practitioners reported having received a rise in annual salary/earnings over the previous 12 months.
