Summary:

In the third part of Occupational Health [at Work]’s exclusive pay and benefits survey, John Ballard and Alice Sinclair examine some of the tangible and subjective benefits of working in occupational health.

Our latest pay and benefits survey reveals that most occupational health (OH) professionals work additional, generally unpaid, hours on top of their contracted working time, and feel that their workload has increased over the past two years. However, most respondents also report being able to work flexibly, and a majority prefer some form of hybrid working. Respondents from the public sector (including NHS) are entitled to the most generous holiday allowance, but less than half of all respondents say their continuing professional development (CPD) is entirely funded or provided by their employer.
